I feel like Sims 3 Seasons, just like Sims 2 Seasons, is an essential expansion pack to have and it adds on to Sims world without being annoying. I say that if you enjoyed Bon Voyage then this would be a stellar expansion to add on to your game, and even those who did not enjoy Bon Voyage I still think you should give this expansion a try. Finally, the resorts do the expansion justice by allowing your Sims to truly relax and enjoy their vacation. Island Paradise also adds playable mermaids to be added to the household. Island Paradise allows you to build houses around the sea or even on boats!! They have many activities for your Sim to partake in such as scuba-diving and waterski. Sims 3 Island Paradise is a worthy successor to the tremendous Bon Voyage expansion from Sims 2. Sims 3 University is good to try out once, but if you do not feel like it is worth it then uninstall and save up some space. Unlike Sims 2 where travelling would halt your home lot time it often felt unnecessary to travel most of time, but because Sims 3’s world is one big place without loading times between travelling I felt more compelled to visit other dorms and hang out with other University students. University Life does benefit by having the Sims 3 travel system and that is probably the only thing it has going for it.

University Life doesn’t feel like it adds much and some of its bigger additions such as social groups feel like a waste of time or even a nuance to go through. Sims 2 University was such a high pick for me and it is because I thought it added enough value to the game and assumed University Life would be the same, but then I realized University Life is a downgrade from Sims 2 University. Horses may be interesting, but they do not salvage this expansion pack. If you liked Sims 2 Pets then this expansion would be right up your alley, but if you found no pleasure in having dogs or cats then skip this expansion pack. Horses add a new depth to the game because now you can make a horse-racing sim and incorporate stables in your home, but other than that I find no interest in putting up with the dogs and cats and would much rather play and interact with my real-life dog. What makes Sims 3 Pets somewhat interesting is the fact they added horses. I personally feel like Pets are a waste of time and add nothing to the game. My thoughts on Sims 3 Pets mirror my same thoughts on Sims 2 Pets. The reason why it is even on this list is because I think it has more value than Showtime and while I may have not been the audience for the expansion pack I know other people absolutely adore World Adventures. Sims 3 World Adventures is an interesting expansion pack at first, but then you quickly realize that it simply becomes more boring the more you use it. Along with that, World Adventures brought in new items that may have been neat at first, but they slowly become less interesting to use over time, especially when compared to the items other expansions bring. World Adventures did not feel like it fitted in the Sim aesthetic and I think that is the reason why the expansion never appealed to me. Personally, I felt bored after visiting my first destination and didn’t feel compelled to visit the other ones because I didn’t feel like they offered much gameplay wise. Sims 3 World Adventures is an expansion that adds three new travel destinations for your Sims to explore and uncover treasures and artifacts. These are the top expansion packs I found myself enjoying the most, so let us not waste anymore time and start this list.

This list is strictly my opinion and my list may be vastly different from yours. Today I look at my top ten favorite Sims 3 expansion packs. I personally prefer Sims 2 over Sims 3, but I still love playing Sims 3 when I have the chance. Sims 3 feels like completely different game from Sims 2 and some prefer Sims 3 unique style while others feel that it doesn’t hold a candle to Sims 2. When Sims 3 was first released it sought out to expand what the Sims franchise could bring the player and it did just that.
